Local literati contest

I am organising te get a few Mates who enjoy bonsai together for an Aussie Barby and to do a literati workshop.
I havn't told them I am planning on asking members of BT to vote on thier results.
We are mostly beginers but for the one or two experienced this will be a step outside the square for them as well.
I have become very interested in the literati style. I am looking forward to finding out what all the difficultness is all about.
Finding ways to balance a diffucult tree sounds very interesting.

Any advice I can pass on to the participents would be appreciated.
ie What amount of bending we can achieve with these trunks?

I have purchased about two trees per partisipant each costing about $6 from the bargain tables. I am thinking a lottery either giving each partisipant a tree or giving us picking rights.
I think both options have thier merets.

What a neat idea!
Why not let them keep the one they work on?
Make sure you take lots of pics!

Thats the spirit Aus I can say our standard is nothing to be scared off.
Make sure you continue the spirit by having a beer while you style.

We are meant to be doing it this weekend although that is not finalised yet and the weekend is creeping up. If you need more time that is ok I will post the literati's up for a vote after I recieve a couple of Picturess from you of the pre and finished tree.

Anyone else up for some fun!

There is a little pine tree in the ground behind the house, I might just have to try and style it into a literati, while it's still in the ground. This will pretty much be my first attempt at literati too. If I get a "round-tuit" I'll take and post pics.
BTW: Just FYI, one of the things that makes literati a more difficult subject matter is the prerquisit of no less than four beers, (traditionally six cups of sake) and no more than you can drink and maintain proper binocular vision (without the aid of placing one hand over one eye),...not during styling, but prior to initial work, but after the power tools are placed safely away from the trees, and artists. Once styling has begun, one can traditionally exceed the limit of alcohol, to such an extent as needing to keep both feet firmly on level terrain, due to concerns involving involuntary "falling over sideways".
Glad I could clear that up for you.
Looking forward to seeing the pics,....and maybe posting some as well!

Well guys it seems I have a definate date for next Friday for our local literati barby.
Don't let this spoil your weekend if you planned to use this weekend to have fun with your literati's.
I propose any members who want to jion in to send your pre style and styled tree pics to me at brettdanica(at)aapt.net.au and I will set them up in a thread Anonymously as possible for a member vote.
Jamie and zen you are most welcome.
