Huh? Literati style acceptable for crape myrtle?

I have a crape myrtle that has stumped me since I got it as an attractively gnarled plant from the nursery. I've mostly just pruned it back and allowed it to stay the same as it was.
I...think.... I can see an interesting literati tree in it.

What do you think and I haven't found anything on when to prune entire limbs off of a crape?

Any suggestions?

I've jinked the image levels to try to increase visibility.

That's it. Appreciate any input. I've not seen literati on anything but pines but just wondering.

Also need the info on the pruning if any.

Thanks.

I don't see why not. If nothing else it'll look great in winter.
