Litari Pine?
i just got a pine, not sure what kind, and am thinking aboit training it in litary, that way i can get a tree witholut having to worry to much about the trunk thickness, being it is only about a half an inch around, and so i striped it all off except the to 4 inches, and wired a small branch up as the new trunk, any suggestions on litari and pines is wanted, it is about a foot tall, by the way

Take a look in bonsaiTALK Links under bonsai styles for BUNJIN or LITERATI or you can search on either there
This link in particular is good: http://www.bonsai-bci.com/literati.htm You might also look in the Museum http://pictures.bonsaitalk.com/key/literati It is going to be next to impossible to make any specific suggestions without seeing the tree. Regards, Matt

it's "LITERATI" or "BUNJIN"
The "rule" says the trunk should be bare for 60 to 80 percent of its length: The one rule that is true of all Literati style bonsai is that the trunk is bared for 60 to 80 percent. The tree in question has a branch that originates midway up (50 percent) It is for the reader to decide if the tree is too tall, and if the rule is a guideline or a law. If it were mine, I would be inclined to reduce the foliage density before I played with the height. Regards, Matt
