//The citizens of the UK are the only hold-outs to this convention.//

Wrong. There are 53 countries, in the British Commonwealth, who use the spelling sulphur. Both spellings are acceptable.

Not according to IUPAC. And I've noticed that the sulphur/sulfur spelling is not as big of a deal as it is in the UK, where the debate can get quite heated.

Look in plain site.

The reason you cannot find lime sulphur in the garden shops etc. is that there are so many more products which do the job better that many dealers have stopped selling it. Its primary function is as a fungicide for dormant fruit trees. Newer products are not as stinky... and have a longer shelf life. Unfortunately that does not help us much.

Try looking at farm supply and feed stores and agricultural co-ops. You may have better luck. We also sell the product in quart bottles (a lifetime supply) on our web site www.bonsailearningcenter.com

G'day all...

I expected some disagreement...however, 6 times in my previous post I referred to "my opion/thought/etc.".

As to the spelling , sulfur and sulphur are both listed in Webster's Collegiate ("sulfer; also sulphur").
