Living art:
That is strange, since Lime sulfur is sort of an orange color and putting it on red, you wouldn't think it would turn blue... very strange....

You might add some acrylic white paint to the lime sulfur and reapply.

Being an artist I cannot figure out the color combination change... Have you waited a few days with your tree in the sunshine?

for anyone who might have been following this:
the wood was Nana. very old so all the wood was redish. the only way to get it white is to let it dry out and apply lime sulfur/water over and over.
also if anyone saw any of my ealier posts asking about wood sealer i found a very good one. it's mniwax none gloss satin. works very well.

Sometimes it goes on this color. I think it's a reaction to the water content of the material it is applied to.

It will fade to a "normal" color after it's had time to carry out it's bleaching action.

You can often get the same effect by misting freshly applied lime sulphur with water.

Update,
Continuos misting of lime-sulfur-water mixture has resulted in a successful and progressive bleaching of the dark red juniper wood.

If at first you do not succeed, apply-apply again.
