Leggy growth or something wrong?

This is one of my crepe myrtles. It was repotted and heavily root pruned this year. It has budded back strong and shows signs of potential, but i have been noticing a pattern in it's growth. Some leaves are becoming shriveled and new branches are drooping. Yet some are growing strong. i have my own ideas as to what might be happening, but i would like to hear some input from you guys.

I don't think it is watering or insect related and this baby gets full sun. It might be nthing but I am not as familiar with this specie as i am others. All input is helpful.

here are pictures of the leggy growth and other strong new growth. First 2 are strong and the 3rd pic is the questionable growth.

Thanks for this question and the answer. I would like to think that is all that's wrong woth mine, which are acting similarly even though this is not their repotting year. But last year they were in full sun and bloomed nicely.

It has been awfully unseasonably hot now here in Georgia, along with wide variations in temps earlier in the spring. So maybe they are just suffering from confusion like the rest of us!
