Las Vegas Bonsai Places
Dudes,
I just found out my wife is having her company meeting in Vegas. Does anyone know of any good nurseries or bonsai places there? I would rather spend my money on plants than giving it to the casinos. Thanks Peace Bob (from the avocado capital of the world)

Bob,
Ron is right about Vegas having a bonsai club and some members probably have a lot of local knowledge. I've only attended two functions but I remember them saying they go to Southern Cal twice a year to get good stock from a Bonsai retailer. So in short there are no Bonsai retailers here in Las Vegas. However, we do have a lot of nurseries with one that I feel is a SOLID place to stop by. This nursery has a great selection of plants which also includes a small area with (15 to 20 potted Bonsai plants). There garden stock plants are much better though. The Bonsai section is a little on the neglected side but who knows they might have brought in some new ones since spring is here. The business is called Plant World Nursery on 5301 W. Charleston Blvd. This is approximately 4 miles west of the strip. Hope this helps and good hunting! Rob

It might be informative to check with the Cal. state agricultural folks to see if any plants can be imported from Nevada before you spend too much money. |

Hey, thanks guys for the information.
I talked to the president of the LV bonsai club, Bob Kovack. He told me theres no bonsai nurseries there and they all come here to Cawlefornia to get theres. I was there and figured might as well see what different places have. This May ,I will be going to Nebraska and Iowa. My oldest is graduating from UNK. I will be looking. Again my compadres Thank You. Peace Bob
