The aggression towards Will Heath, by some members of this site is palpable and bordering on ridiculous – move on, get over it, it serves no purpose to hold a grudge but shows other members your weakness.
As to cancelling membership to BT, that is of course your right, however it would appear that not many of you subscribe anyway so I guess no loss to the Editor but your loss to learning. As I am still trying to get a complete set for my library, I would be happy to purchase any of the following issues. 2,3,4,5,6,7, - 10,11,12, - 14,15,16,17,18, - 21,22,23,24, - 37,38, - 44 and 45. 'Not many of YOU', meaning those people involved in the discussion. Had I wanted to include all the members, I would have said 'Not many members of this site'

It doesn't sound like there is much learning to lose in recent issues,...at least on growing bonsai,...but if you like mushrooms, then perhaps there is,...or if you are an advertising and marketing student. Oh well, not having a subscription just saves me the trouble of having to cancel it.

That is really the best thing to do. The only smart thing. Don’t just complain , cancel your subscription. The same goes with this thread. If you go to the top of this page and click on Thread Tools you will see the option Unsubscribe from this thread. Click on that and you will not have to read what goes on here. Don’t go to a place that you don’t like. Hit that unsubscribe option. |

Have you checked out Bonsai Europe? I haven't looked at current issues, but I was rather impressed both by the issues and the folks working on it last year at the WBC. It's a little expensive (at least in the US) but I'm thinking about subscribing myself.

If many of the subscribers to Bonsai Today (or any other magazine) are dissatisfied with the content of the magazine, whether or not it is discussed on an internet forum isn't going to matter. They will stop subscribing. And the magazine will go into a tailspin, with more ads to bring in revenue... so fewer articles... more people drop their subs... more ads, less content... That would be a shame. Look for my auctions to start again, I've been selling off almost a complete collection of Bonsai Today magazines. I'll start again next week, so check out the "auction" link above. Joanie |

Jon, I agree with you, especially the hatred for Will Heath - it even got Ron Martin out of his self imposed virtual isolation. If you don't get anything out of the magazine, cancel your subscription. As far as an internet bonsai magazine, that was tried, was well done, it did pay for articles, but could not financially survive as with most good bonsai endeavors. If you like the older bonsai todays, check on ebay for old issues - they are frequently there. I have a complete set of BT and find it a very useful resource. If you want something similar but still being published, try Bill Valavanis' International Bonsai. It has in my opinion become the best English language bonsai magazine. Kindai Bonsai is also worth the $186 a year, even though I can't read Japanese.

agreed, don't keep looking at replies if you don't want to be part of the discussion. if you are on the opposite side as to the views here, feel free to start your own thread expressing that view. as far as will, some may have hated him, i kinda liked the guy, but he got too "high and mighty" for his own good here. i wish him all the best, but i can't say i miss him.
