Juniper witches brooms

Hi, folks. I just moved with my family to our beautiful new home in Hot Springs, SD. I have a cliff behind my house that is mostly covered with juniper trees, many of which have "witches brooms", or yatsubusa. Anyone out there have experience collecting juniper yatsubusa from the wild? Any different from standard air layering? It's a very tempting prospect, but I want to do a good job of it, to give the resulting trees the best start.

No experiance with those,...but DO be carefull scurrying along that cliff, keep us posted,...is there any way that you can get a shot of the cliff, if so post a pic here so we can see what you're dealing with.

Thanks for the concern, Zen. I do have some experience collecting from some pretty difficult places, and I will certainly be careful up there. I'll get some photos soon of the trees and the cliff. We're still unpacking, and I don't know where the camera is.
