Juniper Procumbens Nana for raft?

A really simple question here: Are Juniper Procumbens Nana good material for raft plantings?

I ask because I picked out a really bad piece of nursery stock (before I got the hang of it) and want to find a good use for it. The reason I wonder about the use of JPNs is that I fear a need to be forever wiring droopy branches up.

Your thoughts?

Thankyou.

I'm not a big fan of them for the reason you mentioned - their ground-hugging growth pattern makes them a real challenge for branch training. How are you planning to create your raft (I am assuming splitting the trunk, but am curious)?

The piece of bad stock has 2 main trunks. I hoped to get two small rafts from the one plant. I have already selected the branches I want to grow as new trunks in the raft. I was going to wire them up and bury the plant deeper so that the current trunks are under the soil line. Before doing so I was I'll cut patches of bark away from the underside and brush the bare spots with hormone. Pretty standard really. All the books I have set out more or less the same procedure.
