Hi,
I received a weeping rosemary plant that I have trimmed and am hoping to make some sort of "bonsai" out of it. I have trimmed all but two shoots from the trunk structure and kept a few inches of the other shoots coming off of the trunk in the hopes that maybe I could jin. Does rosemary have the right type of "wood" in order to be able to jin? Thanks Dave |

Yes rosemary has very hard wood. An jining suits it nicely. When you cut back look for your life lines.

I have found that once the bark is stripped, rosemary has a very nicely textured wood. I uses a relativly soft wire brush, in the same direction as the grain to enhance the texture.
I found this out when a rosemary of mine died last year and i had a play myself. Al
