JADE - a strange occurrence for me!

Hi all forum members.
At the beginning of the growing season (March) I took apart a Jade that I have had for over ten years, and planted the trunks in different pots.

The other day, I noticed that what I believe are roots growing on the branches. I've never seen this before. I don't think they would be considered aerial roots or would they

It has to do with the moist air around the tree.

When I pruned the jade bush outside in my backyard, the fallen branches sent out roots at the point of touching the moist ground. After a few weeks, all the cut branches were firmly rooted, just from touching the ground.

So, I think that the moisture in your air induced those roots, even though there is no soil touching them.

Carl and Attila, I have had the same experience. Roots will appear on new cuttings if the humidity is high.
Junipers planted in the ground will do the same thing. Branches close to the ground develop little bumps that are the starts of new roots. They rarely reach the ground but these branches can be easily rooted.
Are these aerial roots? Depends on your definition.
