Indoor Grape Bonsai

I have a grape bonsai that I have had for about 5 months indoors and it loves it's environment. I have it near a bright window where it gets about half a day of sunlight. I have to cut back new foliage every 2 weeks because it grows so fast. When I first bought it I kept it inside for 2 weeks and then tried to put it outside. Well the next day all the leaves drooped & sagged and it looked like death was knocking at its grape door. I live in South Texas where the temp right now is in the mid 90's. I know that grape vines lose their leaves in the fall so my question is what should I do when fall comes around? If I keep it inside, then the leaves won't fall. That means I should put it outside but I don't want to fry it during the heat.
Can anyone help?

Hi gilby,

I have a bougie that does the same thing. The thing is I think, you will have to slowly acclimate it to the outdoors, keep it in the shade for a few days or so, then semi shade, so on and so forth.

Your grape most likely transpired quickly causing it to wilt. I am almost certain that this is what has happened with your grape.

Paul

Zone 9 talking

Dear gil,
This is what I'd do. Leave it out side in full sun. As the wilting leaves curl pull them off. A new set of buds will form in two weeks and in two more new leaves will form.
As cold weather comes later for us ( zone 9 ) there will still be time for the new leaves to aquire storage for the coming dormant season. Grapes are tough, dont worry too much!
