Question Indoor Chinese Wisteria

Hi all,
I planted some chinese wisteria seeds at the start of the summer and have some seedlings (whips) that are about 3-5 inches tall. YIPEE!!! The problem is i live in wisconsin and am not sure what to do with them up here. I was thinking of trying to keep them indoors during the colder part of the winter. Is this going to kill them? if so, any suggustions? thanks,

Eric

It sounds like you planted your seeds at the wrong time of year. I doubt that they would make it through winter in normal house conditions. You need to find a cool spot for them but not too cold. Somewhere with temps between freezing and 50 degrees.

ok...so how about light. if i keep them in a basement that is unheated but has small windows up top, will that be enough light? i am just hoping to keep them alive right now!

Should be OK as long as they don't stay too damp or get too warm.
Don't forget as temp increases the light requirement goes up too. I'd try and keep them very cool (40-50 F) with just a little moisture if they aren't getting much light - you want them to go dormant.
Good luck - all though it's a long hawl until they flower (mine take at least 5 years) they are worth it.
