Image Editing
I don't know if I should post this here, but I couldn't find anyplace on the site that seemed better than the "general" forum.
I MAY be able to get a copy of Photoshop, but if not, what kind of image editing software do you guys use? I see virts on here all the time so I know that some of you are graphic wiz's. I'd prefer something less than 50 bucks but if there's nothing any good for that price, I may just shell out the extra change and get some version of photoshop.

Photoshop here, although I think it might be well above your $50 budget.
Jasc/Corel allow you to download a trial version of Paintshop Pro. Its limited to a 30 day trial or something. If its just virtuals you want it for - you can't go too wrong with it. Just found this on amazon - Paintshop Pro 8 (not the new one, but still more than suitable for $29. Try the demo first, then if you like it, get it at amazon or something. One thing I would recommend getting is a wacom graphics tablet. Much easier drawing with a pen than a mouse cursor... thats for sure! All the best, Aaron

I don't know, I think it's going to be hard for me to convince myself to use anything other than Photoshop. I have a lot of experience with it since I was a graphic design major (among other things) in college. I saw photoshop 7.0 for sale on ebay for less than $100. Unless I can get some kind of response out of my brother-in-law soon and get a REALLY cheap photoshop disc (I would NEVER do anything illegal
) then I might just buy it. Thanks for the replies.scott

Hi Eminart,
I'm wondering if Adobe do an "Academic" version like Microsoft do with XP. I purchased XP Pro academic version for my little brother as he is a student and does his homework on the PC. The academic version is identical, but is sold with certain conditions in mind, and is a lot cheaper. Might be worth checking out their website to see if they do something similar to Microsoft in that respect. All the best, Aaron

Photoshop Elements is cheaper (65-85 dollars) and all you need.

Gday Eminart!
PS Elements 2.0 here - more than adequate for virts and such. I can't remember what it cost me, but it was a good few years ago now that I got it. Good luck. FlyBri.

Well, I actually will be using it for more than virts, that's why I'm leaning toward photoshop. Anyway, I found what I THOUGHT was Photoshop 7.0 on ebay and ordered it. From everything I can read in the description, it seems like the full version ready to install. But I don't know all the software lingo so I'm a little unsure, especially since I only paid $40 for it. Can some of you computer experts check this out and tell me what I bought?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 I asked the seller a question about it and he responded: "Hi, CD-Key is for Wnindows. User Guide is for windows and macintosh. CD-Key and user guide is for Full version. Thanks" The "CD-Key" makes me a little leary. Will that contain the actual software? It didn't say anything about "key" in the product description........ So what do you think?

Hi Eminart,
It says its not a demo or trial version, but the full retail version, so you shouldn't have a problem - especially as its sealed. Quite often retailers like this buy bulk orders of older software that is diminished in value due to subsequent releases. Ok so its not Photoshop CS2, but who cares..... it will be more than sufficient to do virts with. All the best, Aaron
