I hope you don't go away. If someone got their neck a little out of joint that's nothing new around here, they have to live with it and you should do the same. Live with it. There is a lot more to be had for you and from you by staying. As to the art of sniping. I was in the field in Viet Nam when I was sought out because of my marksmanship scores. The powers that be, wanted me to go to sniper school. This turned out to be the beginning of the US Army's sniper school that is still in operation today. I declined but I respect those who did participate. Having said that, you should have a little harder head than to let a little criticism scare you off.

BAS,
You are new here. People have to get to know you and your "on-line" personality. Words here are seen by possibly thousands and not all will have the same view point as yourself on any given topic. Avoid controversial themes and just go with the flow....... we are all joined by the common interest of Bonsai. You, like every one here, are perfectly entitled to express your opinions on the threads that appear, but at all times we have to maintain a certain dignity and respect for our fellow members and bear that in mind when we type. You are not the first one to jump in on the wrong footing, nor will you be the last. Stay and contribute, read some of the articles and older threads, look through the galleries, we all learn every day. . . . there is a vast knowledge base here. Regards, Ian |

Hey BAS
As I said yesterday , I thought everyone was joking around. You included. A lot of and ex Soldiers ( and ex Cops ) have sense of humors that takes a little time for some folks to get used to. Your experiances are vastley different from most folks you meet on these forums . Likewise you may have to make an effort to understand these " civillians" you now live among. We all share an intrest in Bonsai. Tried to PM you last night , as , other than Bonsai, we share somewhat similar backgrounds. Hope you change your mind. R |

BAS,
I'm not one to judge so i won't. You are entitled to your own opinion. As Ian said, it can be hard to get to know someone over the internet but it happens eventually and we get used to each ohers quirks. I am personally of the disposition "hit it with a hammer. if that doesn't work, get a bigger hammer". If you like to shoot then so be it. as long as we all like to bonsai. Al p.s I love your avatar. I have it as the background on my desktop at home and it always brings a smile to my face.

Fallen Sniper,
This advice may be a little on the dark side for some and may not hold true in the world of the real but online the best way to deal with a problem like this is to ignore it, forget about it and move on. Threads get buried really fast unless you have a rule breaking half dead juniper mallsai posted or mentioned the name of Will Heath with your "taboo-boo" then just forget about it and carry on like nothing ever happened. If you had placed your foot in your mouth the last thing you should do is create another thread/post pointing it out. ![]() Last edited by RedPine : 15-Nov-2006 at 09:03 PM. |
