Im Baaaaaaack :)
Hey all, im back from the land of flooding and generally wet weather, also known as Cornwall, near Newquay which a surprising number of you know anyway
anyway, while i was down there i went to St. Mawgan which holds a fantastic Japanese Garden and reasonable Bonsai Nursery. The Japanese Garden is fantastic, i took loads and loads of photos but unfortunately cant share them because i didnt have time to get permission off the people that run it , anyway, i spent about 3 hours there with my family, mainly wandering around the garden which is very peaceful and tranquil, and at its center holds a beautiful tokonama of 3 rocks in white gravel which is raked to fit their contours. The garden houses many different varieties of maple, as well as some huuuuuuuge coy carp, which will interest a lot of people i reckon. At frequent intervals in the garden there are shrines to Buddha which people leave petty change on to bring good luck.I didnt buy any trees from the nursery because i couldnt really afford any, but later when i went to the Eden Project i bought an Olive (europea) which for £8 was a good deal for me its now my most traveled tree and having done nearly 500 miles!!!!anyway, i had a great time and would definitely recommend the garden to anyone, just try and go when its sunny ![]() Rowan

Hi Rowan,
I went there last year, I thought they had a good selection of pots but the trees looked a little unkept, was also quite expensive. I didn't bother with the garden, but I wish I had now, as I've heard it's nice. I've seen a website somewhere. Regards Delboy. |
