Exclamation Hurricane Jeanne: Not again!

With the recent change in direction of Hurricane Jeanne, it looks like we may have number two heading our way. Schools have been closed for tomorrow, so there must be a reasonable threat of it hitting. Unfortunately, this will be the sixth day that we will be required to make up for school. There could be more if Jeanne hits us.

Everyone down South is hoping this will make a turn North. We do not wish this hurricane on anyone, but it could be disasterous if we take another hurricane before we have recovered from the last. There is still a lot of debris in the front yards of houses. They will make great projectiles for this hurricane. So, it looks like we will be boarding up tomorrow. Depending on whether I will lose power again, it could be a while before I come back online. I guess this is another goodbye to everyone. I will come back online as soon as I can to let you know that I am ok.

Best of luck Charles.
A lot of us will need to keep a close eye on that storm.

Good Luck, Ron.

At the least, it looks like you'll get (very) wet.

That seems to be happening to me a lot lately. But at least we only had one tropical storm and no hurricanes here this year.
For some reason my area has mostly been spared the high winds. So far luck has been with us.

Ron,
You guys deserve a break from your normal yearly hurricane madness. It seems every year your area gets hit by a bad one.

Actually they usually hit north of here. Up around the aptly named Cape Fear area. Our last direct hit by a Hurricane was in 1989. That was Hugo. And yes that was more than enough.
The tropical storm Gastone came ashore here a few weeks ago. We got a crap load of rain and some winds from that. Not much damage though.
For the most part all we have gotten from all the hurricanes this season is rain. Mind you there has been a lot of that.
We might get a bit more from this storm. From what I can tell the projected path goes right over my house ;o(
But it should be a bit weaker when it gets here. Hope so anyway.
All these storms have been playing havoc with my schedule though. Seems like every time I get booked to do a workshop the area gets hit by a hurricane. So far Pensacola FL, Fort Myers FL, Mobile AL and a few places in Louisiana have been visited by bad storms just after they booked me. Beginning to think that I am some kind of jinks. Book me and get nailed ;o(
