How long for Ulmus wiring "setup?"

Until this week I have never had to wire my elm. Pruning did it all. But not quite. I noticed some "uppy" growth tendency and wired the limbs straighter. How long does that old stiff elm wood take to take a "set?"

It depends on how old & thick it is, how much it's bent, and how fast it's growing.

But you knew that!

Regards,

Matt

Okay. COMPARATIVELY then. Juniper seems to only take a month or so and it sets up.

It takes as long as it takes. When you unwire if your unhappy with the results wire it again..and again..and again if needed.
