Halloween Pumpkin How to keep a cat away.

Hi all,
Does anyone have a problem with a cat in your backyard? I know that cat's urine can kill your precious bonsai in no time. Recently I found some of cat's feces in mine. I used the Black pepper powder ;-) (white pepper more expensive anyway) to sprinkle in the area. Since then I didn't see any evidence of cat's invasion in my yard. But I think it's just temporary and I'm looking for a better way to control the cat. Any input is appreciated. Bonhe

An old wive's tale mentions the use of citrus rhind (oranges mostly i think) at being a deterant for cats. I wouldn't exactly place the rhinds in the bonsai pots themselves. but more in and around the area. the potential for changing the ph of the soil may exist tho i highly doubt the rhind of an orange, for example, contains enough acid to cause a chemical change. better safe than sorry.

Just an update. As I thought, after a week of using powder pepper, I could see a sign of cat invasion again in my yard. Then I bought a friendly environmental product but still didn't work. This time, I bought an electronic pest repeller and guess what, it works very well ;-) I set it on for 2 weeks already and didn't see any sign of cat invasion any more. I plan to stop using that in a month (trying to make a conditional reflex for the cat)
