How do you grow moss? Trees in Australia.
Can anyone help?
I am new to the Bonsai world. *How do you grow moss? *Local nurseries suggest getting it from the bush, but is there an easier way? Thanks, Shaun |

Re: How do you grow moss? Trees in Australia.
If you look around, most nursery trees have moss already on them. A greenhouse in my area sells a 3" x 3" pad of moss for $2. If you can get even a starter tree with moss on the soil surface, you can break it up and transfer it to the rest of your trees. Moss likes shade and water. Just remember one thing, dont water your trees so that your moss looks nice, this could end up being too much water for the tree. Some people grow the moss seperate and only apply it for shows. YOu can grow it from spores, this takes a few months but it is a bit cheaper.
