Then more the reason to open one. You should at least make an online store. Or a by appointment only to your private collection.

Normally I do allow appointments but the place is quite trashed with me in school and the wife with a never ending list of projects- she watches too much Trading Places""... ;^)

I'm just now getting caught up.

I have a web domain and all that just putting together what I want on it seems to be perpetually on the list!

I tried several times last fall to get things civilized in my downstairs- flooded out 4 times.

Nothing good is ever easy!!!

Who knows I could quit my day job and join the ranks of wealthy multilillionaire bonsai merchants like Ron and Matt....

The first line in the quote says it all. It is a lot of hard work. Contrary to popular opinion luck has nothing to do with it. Just work.
Bonsai has been good to me and I wouldn't mind opening another store (or two) but finding QUALIFIED people to run it would be the hard part.
I gave up on the idea last year and now mostly restrict myself to teaching and this one small store.
Hopefully the teaching thing will pick up a bit and then I will close this place. Doing both are proving to be a bit too much for me.

Hi

well I think that it will be dificult to find tools.

Jim can you give me your phone number?

So I can call you when I get to Houston and see if you can and I can meet. I have 100 usd budget all to spend in tools, maybe in a book.

I'll try to get more money.

Hmmm how about opening an in-decent bonsai store? The hired help from the local University could run around in short leather happi coats and work you over with raffia, styling wire and those branch-clampy things.

Damn, Matt! That post is almost out of character! Just think, if you ran that sort of bonsai operation, our good friend Clay's artwork would then finally be relevant for something...

I would hope that all of you that tried my quiz, did not pick the truthfull Matt answer as: Matt has no sense of humor and wishes the forum were more serious!

Our bonsai club had a program on Jin, shari, and pot. There were a few comments just like that.
