Hornbeam forest

Does anyone have photos of a hornbeam forest. I recently bought one with seven trees, tallest being about 16-18 inches, and am curious what a good hornbeam grove looks like. The widest tree is probably 3/4 of an inch across, maybe a little more. Thanks.

Thats awesome that the front AND back view are one in the same!!

I think its a good lookin' forest. If it were mine, at the next repot I would add a few little saplings in the back in order to further add to the "depth" of the forset. I also think a shallower pot is needed.

However I do think this forest is off to a great start. Hornbeam are wonderful tree's IMO.

Not saying this is a good example of a group planting, but for what it's worth here is my beech group.

Go to this page to see an excellent example of a hornbeam forest . . . in my opinion, they don't get much better than this one.

Note: its a few images down the page . . . .

OOps. I think I posted the same pic twice. Oh, well. Actually I'd like to go to a wider and shallower pot.

RJS,

By adding more trees especially if they were smaller that would introduce depth perspective but also should introduce irregularity in spacing of the trees, irregularity in heights and also in orientation ie. perimeter trees look great leaning away from center.
