Help Wated Adds

A while back I posted a story on Tanuki's
See http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthr...ighlight=tanuki

In that post I talked about how I thought I had bitten off just a bit more than I could handle. Seems I might have been right.
The contest has been scheduled for 20 Sept in Jupiter Florida. There are only three contestants in this contest. Two accomplished bonsai artists and, hate to say it me. Not an even match.
I have asked who the judges were going to be but I only get a smile in return.
I do think that this poor hillbilly from South Carolina is in a bit of trouble. Wish me luck.
In the meantime if you have any material on how to do a Tanuki send it to me I do think I need a lot of help.;o(
And if you know how to bribe a bonsai judge I am all ears.!!!

Ron I will be there for moral support. What kind of tree will you be working with for the tanuki, juniper or green island, or some other type?

Will you be doing the workshop on saturday? I signed up for that one.

Not sure yet about the plant for the Tanuki. More than likely shimpaku juniper.
Looking forward to meeting you. See you at the workshop.

I bet on saturday Jim's place will have some competition. That same day is the bonsai day of fun.

No competition. Both events are 50 miles apart. One is an open house at a bonsai nursery and the other is a bonsai show. Two different venues.
Besides Florida does have a very active bonsai community. More so than most any where in the US with the possible exception of California. There are enough interested parties to go around.
I have put out notices in my newsletter on both affairs. I do know a few people that plan to attend both events.
But I do think that the Joy of Bonsai event will have more people attending it. That event has Guy Guidry and the other that jerk from SC named Ron Martin or something.
Had I know about the other even I would have most probably moved mine to another weekend. Too late now though. Pity I would have liked to see Guy in action again. He is darn good.

Yep, Guy is good; but I'd rather go see that jerk from SC. Guy specializes in those baldies, I prefer the ficises.

I would definately imagine that more people would go to the Joy of bonsai show. I know the melbourne club has canceled there meeting to go see them.
