Help with cuttings...
Hi all,
I just returned from Maui with some Schefflera cuttings (authorized by the agricultural inspector). I now have them in cactus soil and have given them plenty of water. Anyone familiar with, or had luck with, rooting these cuttings? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated! I have used root hormone on each cutting. But should I have artificial/natural light? Temperature and outdoors/indoors? Watering, etc? Thank you so very much!! By the way...I am in an 8b to 9a zone. THANKS! Last edited by redZ06vette : 17-Jul-2006 at 09:55 PM. |

I've rooted mine indoors, in winter, next to a window, with bottom heat. I'd imagine in FL you could probably sit them in a nice well-draining but very moisture retentive pot in dappled shade.
These things are pretty easy. I didn't use any hormone, but you could probably get away with any of the generic hormone powders.
