Well.
I have absolutely no problems with the large number of categories. More categories equals more participation equals more interest equals wider appreciation. I also believe, like Ian, there is great value in encouraging both novices and children to participate. I disagree that it's just the trees which are to be judged. The bonsai were "created " by people and I believe that the people who spent time and energy (and not just money) deserve the recognition. And you should have your best in show as well...just like Crufts. In fact i have a couple of "dogs" in bonsai pots for the next show... :-) Jerry Amsterdam
