GSBF North Collection

I took a handful or more pics of some very nice trees. I went to the trouble of editing them so they'd fit here size-wise and I had every intention of posting pics of the trees I saw, but I have a nagging recollection of them having some restriction on pictures taken and their being used elsewhere. I believe the stipulation was reserved for keeping the pictures from being used commercially but I just wanted to make sure. Do any of you know if it'd be ok to post these pictures?

Waiting patiently,

Wayne F.

IMHO, most would consider this to be non-commercial use, however a reassuring email from someone associated with GSBF would be nice.

There are already some pics from GSBF on another site as well as pics from a GSBF site that states "Feel free to copy any you want"
Proper credit to the collection is always a good idea.

Wayne, I'm sure that no one involved with GSBF would object to you posting pictures of the collection, especially if you give credit.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to the collection.

Mike

The pics follow. I hope others will ID these trees and their owners. Very inspiring.

Should be the last few.

25578: Not sure, and the foliage isn't easily differentiated from the background, still and impressive trunk though.
25579-80: Views from the center of the garden.
25581: What you see right before you go into the garden. The tree stood 3.5-4 ft tall.

Its the Golden State Bonsai Federation. The North Collection as best as I can tell is named after John North, as opposed to its relation to the rest of California. They have about 100 trees, 50 of which are on display at a time. One gotcha: they're open Wed-Fri 11-3. I showed up monday morning and had to come back later.

#25574 is a tree that belonged to Mas Imazumi, restyled in Bonsai Today a while back by Boon Manakitivipart. It's a fantastic collected specimen, truly a masterpiece.

#25576 was also featured in Bonsai Today and worked on by Boon, but at that time it had a second trunk rising from the large nebari. I have wondered about the wisdom of that removal, as now the tree is just another trident maple.
