The GSBF Mammoth Bazaar, was held last Sunday (February 24, 2002) in Oakland California. In addition an exciting day of vending and browsing, and buying, the GSBF Collection - North was open for guided tours.

Below is a photo collage I put together from the event that may appear in print soon. It's monochrome for that reason, sorry.

I don't know everyone in the photo, but pictured at top center is, I believe, Ms. Tamura who was the lucky winner of the bonsaiTALK stuff bag and complimentary stuffed pig. Working clockwise is Tim Kong of San Francisco; the Shibui gang laughing at the prices of Masakuni tools; John Thompson calling some raffle tickets; two women discussing the fine selection of bonsai starters from Lone Pine Nursery; a couple nice folks completing a transaction at lower left; then Seiji Shiba (L) Grand Prize raffle winner with Lindsay Shiba (R), Headliner/Demonstrator; a couple checking out the bonsai pots; and above them, another couple I see frequently at GSBF functions. Right in the center are Fred & Dolly Fasio of El Dorado Bonsai School & Nursery talking with another vendor, or possibly a leprechaun!

Had a great time. I got let out of the TreeBay cage for a half hour for the photos!
