Ginkgo to chop more or not
G’day folks,
A Ginkgo stump [1st chop September 22], to be chopped further, or not. Height, 30cm [11 ¾“]. Round, cream over brown, rough-glazed, ‘rice-bowl-type’ pot by Andreas van Kerckhove, Belgium. Width, 17cm [6 ¾”], height, 8.5cm [3 ¼”]. All suggestions welcomed. ozzerbon

Since Ginkgo leaves are hard to reduce, and fairly large, why not wait a year and see how it looks with vegetation...
Frankly, I like large Ginkgo trees. The leaves seem to be in proportion to a 28 to 30 inch tree. Of course, this is my humble opinion, for what its worth! ![]()

Pic 1 is what it could look like next year without chopping,
Pic 2 seems like a place to chop if you intend to go that way, Pic 3 is just for fun ![]() Stefan

Thank you Carl and Stefan,
YEP, Carl I agree with you, the Ginkgo tree looks rather great, regardless of size, even tho it carries large leaves. And what can I say about those Virts of yours Stefan, talent indeed, #1 is to dream about. I've decided and done, reduced both trunks down to the next visible node, by about 6cm [2"] I'd say. The tree shall stay in the same pot, and when it begins to leaf out I shall be posting pics. Nigel
