bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

Frank Okimura passes away

Frank Okimura, who was long associated with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, passed away from natural causes in the hospital over the weekend.

Frank was very influential in bonsai, particularly on the East Coast, and will be missed by the many people whom he taught and guided.

If you wish to, you can make a donation in Frank's name to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

This news came from Phil Tacktill, who has been in touch with Franks family.

I have never met the man, nor heard of him.
But it is always a sad day when any influential bonsai-ist is no longer with us.
Thanks for posting Joanie.
