Thumbs up

My name is pete, I have been into Bonsai for a couple of years. i have some small stuff potted up but most is still in training. The prize tree in my collection i purchased 18 months ago in a fire-sale due to a long time enthusiast having to downsize to go into a retirement home. it is a 2ft formal upright port jackson fig. I am from sydney and my favorite stock is chinese privet. the local creeks are full of them so I grab a shovel and the dogs and off we go. They are a big pest so no-one misses them either

hello everyone. I've been on here for a while. posting here and there. i'm Chris and living in Denver, Co. being an apt apartment dweller, i do only indoor bonsai, and house plants. I too am a victim of the karate kid bonsai obsession. tried some trees in my teens (read mangled) until i found some ficus in college, still have 4 out of the five. ps i'm 30 now and have had then for 10 years. but i thought having a tree in a small pot was enough untill i found this site. and craig coussins book BONSAI MASTER CLASS. if only i knew then...

so i have...
-those 4 ficus (3 recently put in grow pots and got the chop)
-A scefflera that was root over rock, but had to bare-root ship 2 yrs ago when i moved now exposed root
- a lipstick plant that i've had a year longer than the ficuses, training for a few years now
-a bouganvilla (had 1 year)
-a chinese elm-newish one of my new fave species!
-2 brush cherries -also new
- a nandina -also new
-dozens of ficus cuttings from the chops- some mame hopefuls there!
-some orchids
-a pot of willow cuttings i took last year for willowwater and couldn't toss out (btw they grew great even all winter indoors- lanky and odd but they're happy)
-bougie cuttings
and various other vines, cuttings, mondo grass

oh yeah all this in my studio apartment! i have great soth windows (4' tall x 8'wide) in the kitchen and bath. my bathroom is like a grreenhouse with a tub!!!

see you in the threads!
