Sorry, unfortunately, no. But you can make another in a new thread and I can strip this poll and merge those two threads back together.

The confusing part about setting up the poll is if you add more options to your poll in the process of creating it, it defaults back to one selection rather than many and you have to remember re-select the "allow multiple choice" thing.

Regards,

Matt

I like the height just the way it is

I like the simple line,

I like the finish, well sanded.

I prefer darker wood.

I like an edge band around the top.

I think you have done a nice job.

I wish my first one looked that good!

Al

Hi Chris,

I think it all depends on the tree/pot you place on this stand... I like the stand as it is. Very well done. The simple lines are very appealing. Now let's place a bonsai on it and see how it looks..

regards, René

Thomas, Thanks for the comments. I like your virtual, and will bear what you say in mind for the next stand.

Al, mitring is a problem for me. I just don't have the gear. I can probably make the cuts ok if I'm careful but the glueing and clamping would be a problem. I'll have to work something out.

René, the juniper looks good on it, but I think this stand is more suited to a tree with a lighter bark. I have a Lonicera with light coloured bark. I ran out of daylight yesterday so hopefully today I can take a photo with that tree on it.

Matt, I think I'll just leave the poll alone now, thanks anyway.

Everyone else who liked the stand: thanks!

If anyone wants to know where the wood came from... click

Regards,

Chris.

Hi Chris

I like this stand.
How did you construct it? Are the boards joined with dowels or biscuits and are the legs morticed in? Could you give us a little insight?

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike, thanks, I liked your stand too, seeing it inspired me to have a try myself.

The whole construction is very simple. The top is a pre-assembled board, part of a round lazy suzan device from Ikea. I cut the angled edges on a table saw with the blade tipped over to 8 degrees. The feet are made from the offcuts, trimmed square and screwed up into the underneath with woodscrews. All very simple. I didn't want to go too complex or expensive because I was quite concerned that I would not be able to achieve a good finish. As it turns out I am very happy with the finish, so the next one I make might be a bit more complex.

Here it is with my lonicera on it.

Regards,

Chris.

Hi Chris,

I like the simplicity except the legs a lil flare, I feel, will help with the stability factor Thomas J speaks of.
The color being so light, as has been pointed out, makes it usable for light colored bark trees only, but that's ok too..
my vote.... I'd like to have it.
