Huh? First Stand - Opinions Please

Hello all,

here's my first attempt at a simple stand, I would appreciate opinions and feedback.

The wood is beech, finished with danish oil.

Dimensions are 300mm by 230mm.

Let me know what you think.

Regards,

Chris.

I like it.

Vert nice simple finish.

The front edge grain makes it beautiful

Should have clicked the "Allow multiple selections" box.

*Too Short
*Too Light

Would be nicer with a single piece of wood on top, but since there is only one vote:

I want one anyway!

Regards,

Matt

Double-drat! Makes the poll worthless really. is there a way to alter it?

Regards,

Chris.

OK Chris, ready for some constructive criticisim? The wood you chose along with the finish is beautiful. But as was noted earlier
the legs are too short and for me, too close to the end of the stand. Here's my attempt to show what I think it should look like.
I made the legs a little taller and moved them in from the ends a little bit, and I believe if you added another piece in the front and rear of the stand, it would still be a simple looking stand but with a bit of stability to compliment the tree.
At least that's my take on it.
