Lime sulphur in U.K.

Can anyone in the U.K. tell me where i can buy lime sulphur. I have tried DIY stores, garden centres and nurserys with no luck.

Cheers

Its most common use is as a dormant spray in orchards, if that helps. The chemical composition is calcium polysulfide. It might be sold as some kind of generic dormant spray.

Check the ingredients.

Here is the data sheet on Ortho's version. I think they may have stopped actively marketing theirs a couple years ago. Probably so they can sell more of their proprietary nasty chemical concoctions.

Regards,

Matt

You will probably only get it from Bonsai nurseries - where in the UK are you? Harry Tomlinson does mail order, he's near Nottingham - Greenwood Bonsai 0115 9205757, and Peter Snart would probably send you some if you call him - Willowbog Bonsai near Hexham 01434 681217
Much easier than making it!

I never meant anyone should try to make it. That would be too dangerous, and you would need a lot of limes.

The bottle of Ortho Lime Sulpher I have is probably 20 years old. I bought a halfgallon of the stuff and I only use it for preserving wood with a small paintbrush. It's still about half full.
