Ficus and other tropicals

The overnight temp is not the only thing to watch for. Remember to keep an eye on the wind that is expected. Temps in the 40's with a wind in the 20's could cause a wind chill that could do real damage to tropical trees.

I lived in Florida for 15 years and lost a Divi Divi when the temp was 50 but the wind was 20 mph. That tree does not like it in the 40's at all.

Not wanting to start an argument here but plants are not affected by wind chill factors. Wind desiccation yes. Just a small difference but an important one.
The results however are the same.
