The tin foil method is one that I have found most successful in getting the AR to reach the soil before it hardens off and becomes impossible to move. You make a tinfoil tub and put soil in it until it's just touching the tip of the AR. Then you let it grown into the soil in the tin foil tub about and inch or so depending on the size of your plant. After it's grown in you remove the soil in the tub and fill it so it's just touching the tip again and you repeat this until it has reached the pot or wherever you what it to go. AR's sometimes don’t exactly come out strait so you have to train them to look like they have felt the effects of gravity. The key to AR's that are growing like out of the top of a branch is to let them get about an inch long then carefully wrap them with moss and wrap that in plastic wrap like an air layering. This lets the root grow a little and not dry out or from hardening off. As you know AR’s will die if they don't reach soil or stay moist. So after it grows enough in the bag then you can use the tin foil method, which works great.

Forgot to mention that the moss thing can cause AR's to come out too.
Best regards
