Ficus ID ???

Here is a ficus from the collection I help with. I have cut it back to the last leaf pair, because I want to chase it back, bringing it into a much more compact style.

Until I know what I am dealing with, I am reluctant to cut it back further.

Any ideas as to the variety ??

Thanks.

The leaves look identical to my Ficus Retusa. I'm probably completely wrong, but that's what I'd hazzard a guess at. I'd wait for Jerry on this one lol.

All the best,

Aaron

Hi Bart..

my best guess is in the retusa grouping.
Will this tree be in full sun after prunning? ..hope so.
Feed it.. and keep it warm. The nights here are dipping into the 50's..brr for ficus.
Good move on pruning though.. when in doubt treat it like a benjamina..
It does need to come down with the canopy.. and then more aerial roots will emerge.
peace,
tom

Here is a detail of the trunk and bark.

I'm guessing that it's some kind of retusa.

Thanks, all.

Bart

You could wait a long time - I have NO bloody clue...

I'll go with Retusa though if this makes anyone happy.
