Ficus Bonsai

Ok, just today i bought a Ficus Bonsai tree, it came with rocks on the soil, i was wondering if i should take them off, also if there is anything really important i should know about bonsai trees, i have done a little research, but havent found much on taming them, if you have any info i should know or you think would help, please tell me, really need help on grooming and taming them

Go ahead and remove any glued on rocks so you can see when the soil needs or doesn't need a watering. Then post a pic here then maybe someone will help you start the future game plan for the new ficus. Also doing a forum and a google search on "ficus" will get you some good info.

I'm not sure what you mean by "taming" the thing.
Most ficus aren't too dangerous unless they're cornered

Generally, you can trim, prune, and wire it into any shape that pleases you. The art of bonsai is in giving the viewer the feeling that they are seeing a huge old tree in nature when they look at it.

What does your tree look like? pix?

Ok, i got the rocks off, and i tied a few branches, i still need a little help heres some pix so you can get an idea of what i am working with, this is pretied,from this picture i am growing the leaves to the right, here are some that are after i tied 1 2 3 4, tell me what you think, i am thinking about cutting off that twig in pic 4, anywayz, just give me ur input on all of the pics. P.S i decided to go with more traditional hemp, rather than wire
