Re: Favourites?
My Favorites are Japanese White Pine (Pinus parviflora) and Japanese Mountain Maple (Acer palmatum)
I appreciate the nice short needles on the White Pine and I like the texture of the bark as it ages. Japanese Maple has a wonderful variety of leaf shapes and textures. For flowering bonsai, I like Prunus mume (Flowering apricot) and wisteria, and for fruit, The Princess Persimmon. Regards, Matt

Re: Favourites?
Trident Maple, and Chinese Elm. They both do well in the long growing season in the central valley. They also both do well in the blow torch summers we have.
Best regards, Bonsaial
