Eucalyptus

tommorrow im going hunting for a eucalyptus tree to make into a bonsai, iwas wondoring what breeds are the best and any tips or rules when using eucalyptus'?

btw if you dont know what they are, my avater is 1.

I've only ever seen one or two eucalyptus bonsai. One's in our gallery:

I think one of the native ficuses would be a much better choice - maybe a New Zealand Tea?

i already have a morety bay fig, and a couple different tea tree's, i love eucalyptus tree's, and ive always wanted to bonsai 1. thanks for the links but i'd already seen em.

They are almost impossible to collect from the wild so I wouldn't try to dig them out, especially if they are big. You might get a seedling to live. I've already told you about Ted Poynton who would more than likely have eucalypts for sale at his nursery. If you are interested our club, Bonsai Northwest, will be having their monthly meeting on this coming monday and the whole night will be dedicated to australian natives.

yea i know, i just havent had the time to go to ted poyntons, im gonna have a look for other natives aswell, maybe ill just leave them till i have a chat with ted poynton.
