Elm & Serissa: The Winter Months
Hey all,
In the south of england, Have 4, 4 year ols elms, 1 60 year old, and a few of Serrisa's. Little concerned about their placement over the winter months, they spend around 70% of there time indoors and the remaining 30% in the garden, not to sure whether the temperature change is doing them to much good, and need a little advice on where the best place is for them in the colder winter months. Thinking of setting up an oputdoor area, where thay can spend all their time, and are away from the large gang of cats in the area (including 2 of mine!) ; maybe a little greenhouse or stand.... Cheers in advance for your advice, take it easy. TJ |

Serissa should be kept above 55F (18C), probably indoors with good light is best for it. Its possible for the elms to go either way. Normally, once the leaves have dropped the elms should be kept dormant until spring . Keep them in a protected area that's not heated for the winter. Don't forget to water them once in while when they are dry.
