I eventaully had five Chinese Elms similar to yours.

One has sprouted leaves THIS WEEK (June 23rd!) - in fact it was your post that encouraged me to go and have a look and, bugger me, there were some tiny leaves on it. I hadn't noticeed because this one I had planted it out in the garden and left to rot!

Three are now officially "bereft of life" - all indications from the autopsy suggest frost damage to the roots.

One other is still green when scratched. I will now plant this one out in the garden tonight.
