Earthquake proof my bonsai

Wow we got quite a jolt here. I was worried about my trees. I dont get much wind and we havn't had rain in 156 days and counting so the only thing I got to be careful of is earthquakes!!!
I hate earthquakes, any one else feel it??

Re: Earthquake proof my bonsai

Where is here?

You might want to relocate some of your trees. Put anything top-heavy on the ground and move anthing that might fall over on your trees.

I have a couple of inches of gravel on the floor of my bonsai area and that has saved my bacon a couple of times from falling pots. Not earthquakes, but cats, wind, and who-knows-what.

Re: Earthquake proof my bonsai

cats are a big bumm, but then so were my old dogs at my moms house, and then again all animals. I used to have some very rare plants, hard to grow, hard to come buy, vbery expensive, names elude me at this time, one I had my mothers monkey came and ate it like it was no problem (this was pre-bonsai), So whenver the moneky was out, my door closed, then the dogs decided to come in and dig in the plants (alot had a 2 foot planter or bigger), and after spending moreein soil in one month then I had the whole time I had plants, I would shut the door when I was not home, or csleeping. Then came the cats, they whoule poo on plants, spray in the trees, it was terriblle, so I learned to keep the dorr closed unless I was going into the door. So yeah, I have had a few problems with animals.

Kris,
Do you know how entertaining your writing is to read. I think I even understood that post, but if I didn't I at least laughed through all of it, Thanks----B
