Desert Ash Hollow Monster tree

Hey,

I have this destert Ash I was looking at doing a bit of work with to improve the carving and hollowing of the trunk...any suggestions or virtuals??

The way the bark peels back and tapers to the ground is awesome!

Not at the moment as I am stripping it about 5-6 times a year, so it does not get much of a chance... this is to build ramification and budding where I require it on the main trunk.

I agree with Irene, that is a great looking tree as is. Two questions. How long have you had it and is it safe to strip it that many times in one year?

This is quite an old looking tree, great job finding this trunk. I think it looks great as is, and would focus efforts on preserving the deadwood, near the ground.

Update on carving

Just spent the last week carving and preserving wood. however I have not finished carving the stump at the front. I have shown a view of the top that has been carved and hollowed out as well. Any input is welcommed.

Using a wire brush on a Dremel tool will soften the carved lines and help it to appear naturally worn by the elements.

That has been done...all it needs now is some finer detail work and polishing.
