Question Delayed Budding on Ulmus parvifolia (Chinese Elm)

Hello everybody.

I recieved two field grown Ulmus parvifolia trees. This winter they were dormant, well one of them has broke bud and infact is leafing out and growing ike crazy. The other is just sitting there. I did the scratch test on it and it seems to be green still, athough it has died back a few inches from the tips.
Any sugestions on how to get the one Ulmus parvifolia to start budding?

Thanks
-Paul

We've been through this on another thread recently. I'm still waiting, like you, for three of my four Chinese Elms to show any sign of life. Green under bark when scratched too...

FWIW I've left mine in a position where they get sun (Ha, what sun!) in the morning on the pots to stimulate root growth where I suspect I've had root damage.

When I start seeing some action I'll repost.

If they die I'll keep very quiet and grieve for the $40 I spent on them....
