Cotoneaster Root Over Rock Suggestions
I would like to do something different this little cotoneaster. I think a planting on a rock would be interesting. Any ideas on a shape of a rock or styling? Would love to see any virtuals. I will attach a few images for different angles. Look forward to seeing what you think!

I wouldn't put a "developed" bonsai on a rock.
In this specific case, you have subtle taper and a little movement. The tree would look fine in a bonsai pot as a slant style with photo #3. However, if you plant it on a rock it has to grow for a long time - like ten years, with the kind of growth you'd need to encourage to get the root hugging effect - you might as well start from scratch. Regards, Matt

Treebay is right. A rock would ruin the whole aspect of this tree. You should take a look on http://www.andyrutledge.com/book/index.html to understand
