I believe the "corrected" notation in the title refers to Ron's own previous poll post (without allowing multiple answers) - not your previous poll post Will.

No big surprises in the beginning votes. My opinion anyway.
So far I agree with the early returns. But as they say on TV these are only the exit polls ;o)

Bonsai, above all, is a horticultural triumph, if you can keep the tree healthy. I wonder if Joe Cocker does bonsai?

Don't know about the rest of you but I find the results of this poll (so far anyway) to be intriguing.
Seems the majority of the voters agree on item #4 and #6
Lets chuck out #5 simply because it is a loaded question skewed to only give one answer. Not a good question and I do apologize for it.
But based on #4 and #6 I think that their is a lot more leniency out there than some would admit.
So far it seems that all agree that bonsai can be done on several different levels. And that all those levels do in-fact enrich bonsai.
Could it be that we all need to reevaluate some of the things we say. How we look at, or down, on others.
I am not about to say that art, hobby or craft are the same. Well in this case they are but in a different way. Each has their purpose, each in their own way are the best way to approach bonsai. All will, as they say, raise the bar. All are valid.
Anyway these are my thought and my opinions the subject. Not sure if I expressed them properly. Hope so. Kind of hope I am not alone in these thoughts. Could be but hope not.

After due consideration, I have reached the conclusion that it's not an "either-or" situation between art and craft. Just the two won't do. There are three important aspects to bonsai, each one as important as the other. The three are, art, craft, and science. All are necessary in equal proportions.
One practicioner that would seem to be a master of horticultural science is Brent Walston. I think it could be very interesting if he was to weigh in on this subject.
