Man... I just missed the new hints and someone grabbed my next 2 guesses...well, the bark looks a little rough for it... but how about orange jasmine (Murraya)?

Congratulations to Bonsai Gecko!!!

Congratulations Bonsai Gecko

You guessed it correctly! It is in fact a Murraya paniculata or Jasmine Orange (aka Satinwood).

This tree when I first got it didnt seem like the ones I have seen in bonsai books or around the net. The bark is flaky and, the name Satinwood gives it a smoother image doesnt it.

I chose this tree as the test, basically because, it doesnt look like it would be a Murraya.

Here are a few of the actual pics of the leaf and bark together.

The tree itself is a long way from bonsai, but with a five year plan, it can be.
