did you ything of covering the sparse roots with a hormone rooting powder/gel or even that organic sea weed extract that promotes root development? give it a helping hand along the way?

I repeat, the tree is in excellent health, wouldn't change a thing I did. Two months and barely a needle lost, remaining buds looking good!

Looking for any experienced advice for future ideas.

i apologise. my ideas are sometimes good so i post them just incase. if i didnt post things like that, how would i ever get feedback on my comment and grow from it, there is only so much that can be learnt from reading, everyone makes their own mistakes.

i'll jus have to read posts more carefully in future.

Funny, I just received a neutral rep point from someone complaining that my comment to Alasdair above (6 months ago) was rude. Although due to the comments, I'm sure it was meant as a red point, I was unable to tell who sent it because they unknowing found a flaw in the system. It seems that if you rattle on with enough words that there is no room left for the "left by" to be read.
