Compost Tea
I have been doing some research on using compost tea on my wife's potted plants and my lawn. I have read it is an excellent foliar spray and drench. I only use organic fertilizer on my bonsai and I thought this might be a benefical addition. So I was wondering if anyone has experience using compost tea on their bonsai and what the results were.

Compost tea is pretty good stuff. But it has three major drawbacks.
1. The strength can vary greatly depending on a lot of factors. (type of compost, decomposition state of the compost etc) 2. The amount of nutrition (N,K,P) is an unknown factor. 3. Seldom are the trace elements necessary (boron , magnesium etc. ) present in the stuff. These factors make each and every batch a test batch. One never knows if you have given too much or too little to the plant till after it is used. Not normally too much of a problem UNLESS that batch is too strong. But A lot of people do swear by the stuff. |

That might work. Just as long as you drink it like a man. None of that sissy stuff like cream or sugar. Heaven forbit the Neutrisweet junk. |
